We examined and discussed full-page examples from three documents:
1 – Codex Amiatinus (ca. 700 AD, Jarrow) in Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana in Florence (Dedication page)
2 – Echternach Gospels (ca. 690 AD, Lindisfarne) in National Library Paris (Luke 1: 1-7)
3 – Lichfield Gospels (8th century. Lichfield?) in Lichfield Cathedral Library (Matthew 5.45 – 6.4)

The BSG now breaks for the summer, although we’ll be in the field in August, sectioning an earthwork to get an OSL date for its construction, somewhere in Central Northumberland.
